My name is Maya Sadeh,
I
am the maker of tzoomi puppets.
My romance with the puppets has stated about two years ago. I have
learned how to make a puppet from sponge. After learning the creation of
this puppet my imagination has started to flow and along with it, the
design of these puppets.
Creating a puppet with your hand is very exciting.
Seeing and feeling the creation of the puppet. Imagining how it will
finely look like…
To believe…
The first time I made a puppet was very exiting. To see how with sponge
and glue the puppet is coming to life! Woo…
When I put my hand inside the puppets head and move the mouth, the
puppet "spoke" to me!! It looked in to my eyes!! It was wonderful!!
As an artist who paints and do carpentry I was
so excited to see how I could humanize the puppet.
I
changed their cloth. (I toke from my kids)
I
design their hair.
I
went back to my childhood.
Today I design puppets, and the sky is the limit. The puppets are made
in China. They are made out of cloth.
I
am hoping that you can be excited from the puppets as much as I am.
The name "tzoomi" in Hebrew is really a slang for attention-some one how
needs a lot of attention. "tzoomi puppet" need attention. But don’t we
all need attention?
The beauty of this puppet is that it has no age. The puppet is for kids
that are three years old up to a hundred and
twenty years old.
